This video popped up when all the hubbub about the rumored video iPod was going on a few weeks ago. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground after seeing it. My wife said I was giggling like a school girl while I watched (on my laptop). Talk about geeking out.

Yeah, I saw this a while ago.

Very cool, though. I think the technology would be great for future arcade games. Lots of potential.

Yup saw this the other day also. It is really cool and it brought back memories of Minority Report in a sense.

        Exceedingly cool.
I thought immediately of Minority report, too.
The future (as represented in the movies) just got a lot closer.
Taking it one step beyond the iPod video possibility, imagine interface this on a tablet PC!
As for useful, it could potentially eliminate an external mouse/trackpad and keyboard.

OK, so Minority Report obviously left a big impression with their show of a possible future. Add me to the list who thought of that movie.

To me it always seemed more like a software problem with how most touch screens work today. I wonder what the real innovation is here in sensitivity, reaction time, etc. I like the idea of a large touch display like this.. When you think of a virtual keyboard and typing on it, your finger from the last letter will not always lose contact with the screen before hitting the next so as far as the question of usefullness. I am sure there are a ton of uses that can be found from a brainstorming session.

How about the future of television? Throw in a little game that can be played in tight spaces where virtual controllers would be ideal.. Great to try out a new game demo during a commercial break before you go out and buy it. OR while your watching stock quotes on a train / plane you can move your hand along the bottom ticker to change speed, shuffle stuff around or pop up a virtual keyboard to type in the stock you want to check. Who knows what innovations could come once this type of technology is made affordable.
