T-Mobile apparently has a publicly searchable database of coverage strength at different addresses. Love the honesty.

Thanks for posting this. I may go back to T-Mobile when they have coverage in my area. Last year I needed a cell phone and I used t-mobile.com to search for my address. They showed coverage in my area, my town was covered in green... so I signed a contract with them. Much of the press about them at the time was similar to the SeattlePI article in fact.
To my disappointment when I activated my new phone there was no signal. Hm, honest... maybe... accurate, not at all. So I called T-Mobile and talked to a customer rep. He kindly informed me after a few minutes on hold that I'd have to travel 2 miles out to get coverage.
After a couple of failed attempts to talk me into commuting to make my calls. I asked for a refund. He then put me on hold and asked me to wait while he spoke to his manager. After another brief wait he kindly informed me that I can send back the phone with the RMA he'll supply. Great, so that was that.
The only thing that left a bitter after-taste in my mouth was the fact that I lost $0.78 from the return. It was labelled as an attempted call when I activated the phone. Sure it was only 78 cents but ,"Come on T-Mobile!", was what I thought.
Oh well, they probably lost money on taking my phone back anyways. But I thought the whole thing would've been avoided had their web site coverage map been accurate or a sales rep stopped me from ordering the phone in the first place.
I went to their web site after reading the article you seeded, to my surprise they actually updated the coverage map! It is accurate now... for my town anyways!
So maybe I will believe what I read this time. Maybe. First I'll pretend to need a phone and see what their sales rep says this time. Just to be sure.

By the way Mike, I'm reserving my vote until after I've confirmed that they actually tell the truth with accuracy this time.
