I'd love to see this one too, something like a 10" screen, and enough CPU power to run Safari/Mail/iWork.
But the stuff they talk about with "nand" is pretty much irrelevant. For primitive devices, it's a great technology. The fact is that there are a few things here and there that must be calculated before something gets up and running, and with something complicated like an OS, those few things build up to literally billions of tasks, all of which must be done.
Besides, the problem has already been fixed with "safe sleep", which is built into MacOS X and enabled on all recent mac notebooks.

Safe sleep still involves reloading RAM from an image saved on disk. I'll bet the solution (this is apparently going to leverage some new Intel technology) will take advantage of nand for safe sleep as well.
Also, I think this isn't just about start-up speed. Better battery life, size, weight and shock resistance.
Oh man now do I wait to order my new MacBook to see if this is true?
Please don't be true! I just got this black MacBook and I don't want to kick myself for not waiting!

Sorry to be technical, Mike, but wouldn't that be an "ultra-portable MacBook? I thought they dicontinued the PowerBook when they went to Intel?
Sorry, I'm just confused.
Haha. Yeah, MacBook/PowerBook... whatever you want to call it. I'm sure it'll have another name like MacBookNano.
Dude I totally wasn't being a jerk. I was seriously confused. I didn't know if he meant MacBook or PowerBook.... Sorry.
