Mossberg's a few months late in this review, but he hits all the important points. $799 is tough to swallow for a DVR, but the superiority of the Tivo makes it worth every penny.

I haven't used Series3 Tivo, but the article does a good job of summarizing the problems with Comcast DVR. Although, I have to admit, I am pretty satisfied with it. Yesterday I figured out how to directly copy/record files from the Comcast DVR to my Firewire-equipped Mac and that quality is awesome! http://dvr2mac2dvd.blogspot.com/2007/04/this-is-how-i-did-it.html
