He is one of those guys who should have gone to jail. You just need to search the Internet to see all the accusations.
I was involved in the dot com scene in Seattle in those days (late 90's). His shenanigans are legendary.

There should be a mandate extending the role of the BBB to any service that is revenue generating, whether online or off, non-profit or for-profit. Not a complex regulatory oversight legislation requiring all the drama involved in the partisan squabbling that accompanies and hinders such things. Just a requirement that any person/organization receiving revenue should have to display a logo of the BBB which informs consumers of the relevant information of previous customer feedback regarding the business. Such a logo would have to be prominently displayed on storefronts/main-webpage and be either real-time or timestamped.
Such is my opinion at least...
